Eco Friendly Ideas for Packaging

With the packaging changing with everything, there are now new needs for protecting everything so that it doesn’t get damaged while being transported.

This is a problem though, since with a lot of packaging materials usually being utilized and a majority of them being plastic-based, it then ends up in our landfills, and it’s basically unable to degrade because of this. Being eco-friendly isn’t just something that is a hot trend to make people happy on the customer end, but is absolutely necessary.  Making the right type of packaging will boost the saves and increase the loyalty to help the planet, and since there are more customers looking for sustainability, it’s vital to switch to packaging that’s more eco-friendly.

Why Use This

This is something that’s pretty easy to put together.  Eco friendly packaging is a type of product packaging that's compostable, recyclable, or even biodegradable. It’s usually made from energy sources that rare renewable. This type of packaging is made with the lowest impact on the consumption of energy, aiming to lesson those materials that you use within the packaging industry, such as void fill, or even bubble wrap that’s plastic based.

So why should you use it? well, a lot of people are interested in this, and they’ll see that your company is eco friendly, and may flock to it, but don’t let profits be the only reason.

The biggest reason is because our packaging is now taking a long time for it to break down.  While you can reuse some of this, eventually it dies, and then, the plastic sits in our landfill, never able to fully disappear.  It then eventually breaks down into microplastics, which threatens our ecosystems and animals, even use too.

As they begin to decompose, the toxins then get leaked into the earth, so it’ll ruin our soil, and also contribute to the waste problem globally. We’re still with a big problem, and the packaging is one of the ways to make this a little bit easier to handle.

How to be More Friendly to the Environment with your packaging

Well, the best way is to make sane packaging decisions for this.

You want to make sure that you have materials that are eco-friendly. Some countries have banned the use of single-use plastics in its entirety, and some have started the charge of plastic bags, so it reduces the usage of bags, offering eco-friendly packaging and bags, saving you some money.

You should use cardboard and other materials that are durable, as they protect shipments usually, and they do degrade naturally over time. they’re made from materials that are recycled, and they offer better environmental credentials, including being versatile and strong too!

You should also consider the use of kraft paper, which is directly made from the pulp of wood, as a natural and renewable source for you to use. Kraft paper doesn’t get bleached, so it reduces the strength, but they’re great for certain items. You also might want to consider bioplastics, and that’s used from cornstarch, vegetable fats, and the like.  They offer a plastic sort of packaging while also properly getting the resources down.

Finally, look at your packaging design. Try to make sure that the dyes, tape, and the finishing are eco friendly. Also, make sure that the packaging fits the itmes. Don’t be wasteful with the packaging that you have. Overall, being able to ensure that you have the proper packaging will improve your ability to wow the crowds, so it’s worth considering when you’re trying to boost your businesses too.
